How to Bypass the Password for Windows 2000 Computer?

“I have a windows 2000 desktop computer that I have had for a long time, but never used. I turned it on today and I don’t remember the password, can anyone tell me who to bypass the password?”

Unlike Windows 7/Vista/XP, Windows 2000 doesn’t incorporates built-in tools to create a password reset disk in advance to in case of a forgotten Windows logon password. But you can use another admin account to reset it. Logon as the administrator or as a user with administrative access, and then follow these steps:

1. Go to Start – Programs – Control Panel – Administrative Tools – Computer Management – Local Users And Groups – Users folder.

2. In the right pane, right-click the appropriate user object, and then click Set Password.

3. Type the appropriate password, and then click OK.

4. Click OK to acknowledge that the password change succeeded.

5. Close the Computer Management console and Administrative Tools windows.

6. The user can log on with the new password.

Aside from it, I find that Windows Password Breaker also supports Windows 2000 in addition to Windows 7/Vista/XP, etc. By using this program, you can easily bypass your forgotten Windows password in a few minutes. Before getting started, please note this application resets the 2000 password to blank instead of recovering it.

If you decide to use this application to bypass the lost Windows 2000 password, please prepare a CD/DVD or USB flash drive and a computer for download and installation. Once the things are ready, you can follow the directions listed below:
Step 1: Download and install Windows Password Breaker Standard

Step 2: Burn a bootable password reset CD/DVD

Step 3: Reboot locked computer from CD/DVD

Step 4: Remove forgotten Windows password to blank.
