How to manage your user password in Windows 7?

To manage the user account password, the first thing you should do is to open the User Accounts window by clicking Start >> Control Panel >> Family Safety and User Accounts >> User Accounts. This window offers you all related links to manage your user password.

How to create a password for your user account?
On the User Accounts window, click Create a password for your account link, and then type a password you would like to use, type it again to confirm, type a password hint and click Create password button.

Note: The password hint is optional. It is used to offer password clues when you forgot the password. As it is displayed to everyone, please never make your password as the password hint.

How to create a password reset disk for your user account?
After adding a password to your user account, please remember to create a Windows 7 password reset disk immediately to in case you forget the password in future. Go to the User Accounts screen, click Create a password reset disk to bring up the Forgotten Password Wizard. Next creating the password reset disk with a USB drive by following the wizard.

Note: If you forgot Windows 7 password without a password reset disk, you can use another admin user account to reset the forgotten password. Otherwise, you have to find a powerful and safe Windows password reset tool like Windows Password Breaker.

How to change your user account password?
Once your user account is password protected, you’ll find the “Change your password” link on the User Accounts window. Click this link, type your current password, type the new password twice, type the password hint, and click Change password button.
Another method: After logging into your user account, press Ctrl+Alt+Del , click Change a password, type your old password, type your new password, type your new password again to confirm it, and then press ENTER.

How to remove your user account password?
Click the Remove your password link on the User Accounts window. On the following window, enter your current Windows 7 password and click the Remove Password button to confirm that you’d like to remove your Windows 7 password. After that, you will no longer need to log on when your computer starts and anyone can log on to your user account once he has physical access to your computer. It’s not recommended to do this job.
